Apron Strings (Kanarowski 2019) TB HM

Apron Strings, introduced by Douglas Kanarowski in 2019, is a Tall Bearded iris growing to about 38 inches tall with a midseason bloom. The standards are clean white with a slight blue-violet tint, while the falls are white overlaid with a wide, dark grape-violet blue band, highlighted by fine veining in a sunburst pattern and finished with a narrow cream-white edge and a thin violet-black rim. Beards are white tipped in red-tangerine, adding a warm accent to the cooler tones. Nicely formed with good substance, this variety has a striking contrast and detailed pattern that draws attention in the garden. It also carries a pronounced musky fragrance. Bred from Pop Idol crossed with Zesting Lemons. Awarded Honorable Mention in 2023.
