Awakening Embers (Schreiner, 2019) TB HM RE

Awakening Embers is a tall bearded iris introduced by Schreiner’s Gardens in 2019, growing about 36 inches tall and blooming early in the season. The blooms are a dark velvety cherry purple self with a rich, glowing depth of color that stands out strongly in the garden. Bright orange beards provide vivid contrast against the dark petals and draw the eye to the center of the flower. This variety is also known for its pronounced fragrance, adding another layer of appeal in the spring garden. Awakening Embers received the Honorable Mention in 2021 from the American Iris Society, and rebloom has been reported in New Mexico zones 7B and 8
