Battle Of The Bands (Sutton, 2010) TB RE Fragrant HM
Battle Of The Bands is a striking tall bearded iris introduced by Michael Sutton in 2010, reaching about 34 inches and blooming early to midseason with reliable rebloom in warm climates. Bright yellow standards edged in white and veined with yellow rise above dramatic falls of rich red-purple, infused with deeper tones. Around the yellow beards, a white area blends into a distinctive pattern of color bands across the petals, with a violet-blue band across the upper half and a yellow-brown band toward the lower portion. The blooms are well ruffled and carry a pronounced sweet fragrance. This complex hybrid comes from seedling S-481 crossed with Mountain Sunrise and received an Honorable Mention in 2013. Rebloom has been reported in California.
