Beverly Sills is a classic tall bearded iris introduced by Ben Hager in 1978, growing about 36 inches tall and blooming midseason. The blooms are a luminous coral pink self with softly laced petals that give the flower an elegant, refined appearance. Bright tangerine beards provide a vivid highlight at the center of each bloom. This celebrated variety was bred from Pink Pirouette and Vanity and quickly became one of the most admired pink irises ever introduced. Beverly Sills received numerous awards  High Commendation 1979, 1980; Honorable Mention 1981; Walther Cup 1981; Premio Firenze 1981; Award of Merit 1983; Favorite Guest 1983; Nelson Award 1984; American Dykes Medal 1985; Nelson Award 1985; Favorite Guest 1986; Nelson Award 1986. Rebloom has also been reported in several regions including California and parts of the United States and Europe.
