Butterfly Skies (Kanarowski, 2019) TB HM

Butterfly Skies is a graceful tall bearded iris introduced by Douglas Kanarowski in 2019, reaching about 30 inches and blooming from early to midseason. The standards are soft white lightly tinged with blue-violet, creating a delicate backdrop above striking falls of butterfly sky blue-violet. A blended white rim outlines the falls, while olive-bronze shoulders and a narrow white center line add depth and contrast. The petals show a subtle zonal sunburst effect that enhances the luminous blue tones. Bright orange-tangerine beards stand out against the cool coloring, and the blooms carry a light sweet fragrance. Bred from Chocolate Soup crossed with Bravery, this elegant variety earned an Honorable Mention in 2023.
