Chocolate Soup (Kanarowski, 2014) TB

Chocolate Soup (Douglas Kanarowski, 2014) is a tall bearded iris growing to approximately 33 inches, blooming very early to early season. Standards are soft lilac-blue, with pale lilac style arms tipped with a small gold spot. Falls have a white-lilac ground with a defined centerline and narrow rim, overlaid by a cocoa rose plum thumbprint that is darker at the shoulders and lighter around the beards, creating a sunburst effect. Beard hairs are white at the base with bright tangerine tips, and the blooms carry a slight sweet fragrance. This variety was selected as Seedling 0383 from a complex lineage including Wild Jasmine, Conjuration, Answered Prayers, Yosemite Sam, and Local Color, and was evaluated in Mariposa in 2014.
