Clarence (Zurbrigg, 1990) is a tall bearded iris growing to approximately 35 inches, blooming midseason with reliable rebloom in suitable climates. Standards are white tinted violet at the top, while falls are light blue violet with a white center and white hafts. Beards are cream, and the blooms carry a sweet fragrance. Parentage is unknown. Introduced by Lloyd Zurbrigg of Avonbank, Clarence has proven to be an exceptional garden performer. It earned Honorable Mention in 1995, Award of Merit in 1997, and the prestigious Wister Medal in 2000. Rebloom has been widely reported across numerous U.S. states and international regions, with performance depending on planting zone and growing conditions.
