Comic Opera (Sutton, 2005) TB

$11.00Price

Comic Opera is a tall bearded iris introduced by George Sutton in 2005, growing about 36 inches tall and blooming in the late midseason garden. The standards and style arms are a rich pansy purple, while the falls open red violet and fade toward a broad violet pink rim. A blue violet center line runs down the falls, and blue white dotting surrounds the beard area, giving the bloom a complex and theatrical appearance. The beards are pansy purple tipped with mustard, adding another layer of contrast. The flowers are ruffled and carry a slight sweet fragrance. Comic Opera was bred from a cross of Bye Bye Blackbird and Eagle Control.
