Daring Deception (Thomas Johnson, 2012) is a tall bearded iris growing to approximately 35 inches, blooming midseason. Standards are white with a light violet wash rising up the midrib, while the style arms are white. Falls are a plush violet accented by a wide white band and a white spray on either side of the beard. Beards are tangerine, and the blooms carry a slight fragrance. This variety was selected as Seedling TB127B from the cross By Jeeves x a Blyth seedling derived from Hold My Hand x Brave Face, and it was evaluated in the Mid-America region in 2012.
