Dot And Dash is a tall bearded iris introduced by David Hall in 1960, growing about 32 inches tall and blooming midseason. The standards are deep violet while the falls are white with a wide violet border that mirrors the standards, creating a bold bicolor effect. This classic variety was bred from seedling 53-30 crossed with seedling 53-25 and represents an early example of strong bicolor breeding. Dot And Dash received several early awards including High Commendation in 1957, Honorable Mention in 1960, Judges' Choice in 1961, and the Award of Merit in 1962.
