Fringe Benefits (Hager, 1987) TB HM AM

Fringe Benefits is a tall bearded iris introduced by Ben Hager in 1987, growing about 30 inches tall and blooming in the midseason garden. The blooms are an intense orange with distinctive lacing along the petal edges, giving the flower extra texture and sparkle in sunlight. A fiery tangerine beard adds even more warmth to the rich orange coloring. Bred from complex Hager seedling lines with Orange Punch in its background, this variety reflects the strong orange breeding work of the era. Fringe Benefits received the Honorable Mention in 1990 and the Award of Merit in 1992.
