Gilt-Edged Bond is a tall bearded iris introduced by Gerald Richardson in 2004, reaching about 36 inches in height and blooming early to midseason. The standards are pale lavender-cream edged in metallic gold, giving the bloom a luminous appearance. Style arms blend cream and lavender tones, while the falls are a soft faded violet accented with a narrow rim of metallic gold that frames the petals elegantly. Yellow beards highlight the center of the bloom, and the petals are lightly ruffled and diamond dusted, adding sparkle in the garden. Bred from a complex Richardson seedling lineage and crossed with He-Man Blues, this iris is admired for its refined pastel coloring and distinctive gold edging. It also carries a light, pleasant fragrance.
