Gnus Flash (Kasperek, 1994) TB HM AM

Gnus Flash is a tall bearded iris introduced by Brad Kasperek in 1994, growing about 38 inches tall and blooming early in the season. This variety is notable for its striking broken color pattern. The standards are light tan fading toward gray with faint violet midribs and silvery streaking, while the falls are deep violet dramatically splashed and streaked with creamy white. Yellow beards tipped with violet sit at the center of the bloom. Bred from Glitz 'n Glitter crossed with Tiger Honey, Gnus Flash is considered a novelty iris and remains a distinctive example of early broken color breeding. It received the Honorable Mention in 1998 and the Award of Merit in 2000. Rebloom has been reported in California and Australia.
