Goldkist (Black, 1993) TB HM AM

Goldkist is a tall bearded iris introduced by Paul Black in 1993, growing to about 36 inches tall and blooming in the midseason garden. The standards are clean white, matched by white style arms tipped lightly with gold. The falls are also white but feature broad yellow-gold hafts that extend about three quarters of an inch down the petal, accented by purple striations between the haft edge and the bright yellow-gold beard. The petals are nicely ruffled, giving the bloom added substance and form. Bred from complex parentage including Coffee House, Hombre, Old Flame, and Instant Charm, Goldkist combines bright contrast with elegant structure. It received the Honorable Mention in 1995 and the Award of Merit in 1999.
