Gypsy Belle (Hamner, 1973) is a tall bearded iris growing to approximately 37 inches, blooming midseason to late. Standards are a blended mix of plum, violet, and rust tones. Falls are a plum-violet blend bordered with a quarter-inch band matching the standards. Beards are violet tipped yellow. The falls are nicely ruffled, giving the bloom added texture and movement. Gypsy Belle is the result of ‘Debby Rairdon’ × ‘New Moon’ and was introduced by Bernard Hamner in 1974. It earned Honorable Mention in 1975 and Award of Merit in 1979. Rebloom has been reported in California.
