Headline News, introduced by Thomas Johnson in 2021, is a Tall Bearded iris growing to about 30 inches tall with an early bloom. The standards and style arms are a soft lavender with a slightly deeper infusion along the midrib, while the falls are a very deep purple-black, creating a strong contrast. A heavily ruffled lavender band and a fine deep purple wire edge frame the falls, adding detail and movement to the bloom. Brilliant orange beards stand out sharply against the dark tones, providing a bold focal point. Nicely formed with excellent ruffling, this variety has a dramatic, high-contrast look that draws attention in the garden. Bred from a Higher Love sibling crossed with Twilight Rhapsody.
