Invisible (Black 2004) SDB HM

Invisible was introduced by Paul Black in 2004 and grows to about 14 inches tall, blooming midseason. This fascinating Standard Dwarf Bearded iris is a true novelty as a glaciata type, meaning the color is concentrated in the beard and veining while the rest of the flower remains ghostly white to near transparent in appearance. The standards show a subtle chlorophyll green cast, while the falls are white with delicate greenish yellow texture veining and a yellow throat. Yellow beards tipped in white complete the ethereal look. Beautifully ruffled and carrying a pronounced spicy fragrance, this one is anything but invisible in the garden! Bred from a complex cross involving Software, Midnight Mist, Dark Blizzard, and Troubadour's Song. This variety received the Honorable Mention in 2006.
