Lady Leigh (Lauer, 2012) TB HM

Lady Leigh is a tall bearded iris introduced by Larry Lauer in 2012, growing about 36 inches tall and blooming in the late midseason garden. The standards are pale lilac that lighten with age, highlighted by a buttercup yellow rim and midrib, while the style arms are lilac edged with light chrome yellow. The falls are a rich oxblood red with an imperial purple center, accented by peach beige shoulders and a lilac rim that frames the bloom. Cadmium orange beards begin deep in the throat and blend to saffron yellow at the tips, adding bright contrast. The flowers are well ruffled and carry a pronounced sweet fragrance. Lady Leigh received the Honorable Mention in 2014, and rebloom has been reported in Texas.
