Making Time (Larry Lauer, 2013) is a tall bearded iris growing to approximately 35 inches, blooming from early to late season. Standards are aster-violet with fine white lines extending from the midrib to a solid white rim, while the style arms are lobelia-blue. Falls are sea-lavender violet with a large luminata-style white center below the beard, accented by white lines flowing down to a light aster-violet rim. Beards are aster-violet with cadmium-orange in the throat and midsection, finishing aster-violet at the ends. The blooms are well ruffled and carry a pronounced sweet fragrance. This variety was selected as Seedling 2552-2R from the cross of seedling 2205-4, derived from Double Dribble x a Clarence x Mariposa Autumn seedling, crossed with Let’s Be Friends, and was introduced by Lauer in 2013. Rebloom has been reported in California, particularly in USDA Zone 9.
