Molokini (Sutton, 2016) TB HM AM FG

$12.00Price

Molokini is a tall bearded iris introduced by Michael Sutton in 2016, growing about 38 inches tall and blooming early to midseason. The standards are cinnamon with violet blue highlights and a fine gold edge, while the style arms are almond shell with gold crests. The falls are violet blue with darker veins and a wide almond shell rim that frames the petals beautifully. The beard hairs are white at the base with pale yellow tips. The flowers are ruffled with serrated edges and carry a slight spicy fragrance. Molokini was bred from All Smiles crossed with a Cold Fusion and Definition seedling line. It received the Honorable Mention in 2018, the Award of Merit in 2021, and was named Favorite Guest Iris in 2022. Rebloom has been reported in warm climates including Arizona, California, and Texas.
