Mother Earth (Hager, 1987) TB HM RE

Mother Earth is a tall bearded iris introduced by Ben Hager in 1987, growing about 37 inches tall and blooming early to midseason. The standards are oyster cream lightly tinted lavender near the edges with beige shading through the center. The falls are soft lavender, paler around the beard, with beige tones on the hafts. A pale blue white beard adds a subtle highlight at the center of the bloom. Bred from Scenario crossed with Pleasure Dome, this variety reflects the refined pastel breeding work of Hager’s Melrose Gardens introductions. Mother Earth received the Honorable Mention in 1991 and has shown reliable rebloom across many regions, including California and other USDA zones from 4 through 9.
