Ocean Sunset (Mego, 2019) TB

Ocean Sunset is a tall bearded iris introduced by Anton Mego in 2019, growing about 35 inches tall and blooming in the late midseason garden. The standards are white with a subtle green cast at the base, matched by white style arms. The falls are white heavily mottled with blue violet, creating a dramatic pattern that gives the bloom its ocean inspired look. Bright orange beards with yellow bases provide strong contrast at the center of the flower. Ocean Sunset was bred from a complex lineage including Acoma, Twilight Blaze, Conjuration, Undercurrent, and True Patriot. Although the 2019 R&I initially listed Michael Sutton as the registrant, this was later corrected in the 2024 R&I to properly credit Anton Mego.
