Paprika Fono's (Nelson, 1989) TB RE HM

Paprika Fono's is a tall bearded iris introduced by Iris Nelson in 1989, growing about 36 inches tall and blooming very early to early in the season. The standards are heavily stitched cayenne red brown with a cream yellow midrib, while the falls show a cream yellow ground widely banded with the same cayenne red brown coloring. Dark yellow orange beards provide a strong focal point at the center of the bloom. The flowers are lightly ruffled and show the bold contrast typical of Pacific Coast Hybridizers work. Paprika Fono's was developed from seedlings involving Smoke Rings, Sun Snap, Décolletage, Plum Crazy, and Plum Gleam. Rebloom has been reported in CA & MT, with fall bloom sometimes occurring in September under favorable conditions.
