Plum Wine (Weiler, 1986) SDB RE HM AM
Plum Wine (John Weiler, 1986), Seedling 82-22-1, is a historic standard dwarf bearded iris growing about 11 inches tall and offering an exceptionally long bloom window from early through late season, with dependable rebloom in many regions. Standards are a full, rich plum violet, while the falls deepen to dark red plum violet for a saturated, velvety look. A dark red violet beard blends seamlessly into the bloom, and a slight sweet fragrance adds to its charm. Bred from Little Bishop × Plum-Plum and introduced by Rialto Gardens, this compact powerhouse earned Honorable Mention in 1988 and Award of Merit in 1991. Rebloom has been widely reported across Zones 5 through 9 and in Ontario, making it a reliable performer in a broad range of climates.
