Redneck Romeo (Stout, 2017) TB HM PBF

Redneck Romeo (Stout, 2017) is a tall bearded iris growing to approximately 32 inches, blooming midseason. Standards and style arms are golden yellow, creating strong contrast with the falls, which are a rich dark rosewood red edged with a ¼ to ³⁄₈ inch rose-buff border. Faint lighter cream markings surround the beard area. Beards are golden orange. The blooms are well ruffled and carry a slight musky fragrance, and the foliage is noted for its purple base. Redneck Romeo is the result of In Living Color × seedling AF-GK-1-03, a Ron Mullin sibling, and was introduced by Hugh Stout of Stout Gardens in 2017. It earned Honorable Mention in 2019.
