Rock Star (Byers, 1990) TB SA RE HM

Rock Star (Monty Byers, 1990) is a tall bearded space age iris growing to approximately 30 inches, blooming early midseason. Standards are apricot orange heavily overlaid with red-violet mottling, while the falls are apricot orange with a medium red-violet stitched edge and deeper stitching over the hafts. Beards are red-orange with a light orange horn speckled red-violet. Blooms are heavily ruffled with a slight sweet fragrance. Parentage is Lovebird x Gigolo. Awards include Honorable Mention in 1994. Rebloom has been reported in California, Iowa, Nebraska, Washington, British Columbia, and England in USDA Zones 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9.
