Smoking Embers (Richardson, 2012) is a tall bearded iris growing to approximately 36 inches, blooming late midseason with rebloom in suitable conditions. Standards and style arms are rusty red, with falls a darker rusty red showing a lighter rim, a white sunburst at the beard, and gold at the hafts. Beards are yellow. The blooms carry a slight fragrance, and the stalks display a light purple haze. Smoking Embers is the result of Edna's Wish × Wild Jasmine and was introduced by Gerald Richardson in 2013.
