Snow Day (Sutton 2014) TB RE SA HM
Snow Day, introduced by Michael Sutton in 2014, is a Tall Bearded iris growing to about 36 inches tall with a midseason to late bloom and reliable rebloom reported in multiple regions. The standards and style arms are clean white, while the falls are white with soft blue-grey veining and a distinct blue-violet band along the edge, giving the bloom a crisp, cool-toned contrast. In sunlight, the petals show a noticeable diamond dusting that gives the flower a subtle sparkle and adds to its fresh, icy appearance. Beards are yellow in the throat, fading to white at the ends, and are accented by short, subtle white horns, placing this variety in the space age class. Nicely ruffled with a refined form, it also carries a pronounced sweet fragrance. Bred from Mountain Sunrise crossed with Razzleberry Pie. Awarded Honorable Mention in 2018. A newer introduction that reflects modern breeding with added form and novelty.
