William A. Setchell (Brehm, 1938) TB

$9.00Price

William A. Setchell (Brehm, 1938) is a historic tall bearded iris blooming midseason and reaching about 42 inches. Standards are cool-toned steel violet, rising above immense falls of deep, regal violet-purple. Introduced as one of the largest irises of its time, flowers can measure up to seven inches tall with exceptionally broad, heavy falls. Stalks are tall and well-branched, often opening multiple massive blooms at once. Extremely vigorous and hardy, this variety spreads readily and produces very large rhizomes, forming bold, substantial clumps in the garden.
